Removals from the UK to Spain, handled by people already on the coast

Moving from the UK to Spain is a big step, and most of it happens at the far end — the end you can't see from your sofa in Surrey. PSR Relocation & Storage SL is based in Manilva, with our own warehouse a short drive from Sotogrande, Estepona and San Roque. We are the people who meet the lorry, carry your boxes up the stairs and, if the house isn't ready, keep everything safe until it is.

How a UK to Spain removal works with us

It starts with a conversation. Tell us what you're bringing — a flat's worth, a full house, a few pallets of furniture you can't part with — and where it's going on the coast. We'll talk through volume, access at both ends, dates and what you'd like us to pack ourselves. From that we build a written quote with no vague extras hiding at the bottom.

On collection day your belongings are wrapped, inventoried and loaded for the road journey down through France and Spain. When the load reaches the Costa del Sol, it is our own bilingual team that unloads it — not a subcontractor you've never spoken to. If your Spanish home is ready, we deliver and unpack. If it isn't, it goes straight into our warehouse in Manilva.

Customs and paperwork after Brexit — the honest version

Since Brexit, household goods travelling from the UK into Spain are treated as an import, which means customs formalities apply. In practice that usually means a detailed, valued inventory of everything you're shipping, proof of who you are and evidence of your move — and the process is normally handled by a customs agent rather than by you personally.

There is a recognised route for people relocating their home, often referred to as transfer of residence (ToR), which is designed for personal effects brought in when you move. Conditions, evidence and timings apply, and the rules do change. We'll tell you what we see in practice and put you in front of the right customs agent, but we won't promise an exemption or quote you a figure — you should confirm your own position with the customs agency and with HMRC before you commit to dates.

Storage while you wait for completion

This is the part that catches most people out. Spanish purchases slip. Notary dates move. Rentals overlap awkwardly. You do not want your entire home sitting on a lorry, or paying for a second removal because the keys weren't ready.

We have our own secure warehouse in Manilva, so the bridge between removal and home is one company, one inventory and one point of contact. Your goods come off the lorry, into storage, and out again when you say the word — usually within days of you getting the keys, because we're twenty minutes away, not in a depot in Kent. Storage can be booked by the week or the month, short term or long.

Why choose PSR Relocation & Storage

We are a Spanish-registered company (PSR Relocation & Storage SL, CIF B26888982) with a physical base at Calle Panaderos 10D, Manilva — not a booking desk that sells your job on. Around nine in ten of the households we move are British, so we know the questions before you ask them, and our team works in both English and Spanish.

Everything is set out in a written contract, including insurance cover based on the value you declare for your goods. You'll know what's covered, what it's worth and who to ring. That's the whole point: fewer unknowns at the one moment in your life when you have quite enough of them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What paperwork do I need to bring my furniture from the UK to Spain?

You'll normally need a detailed inventory with values, identification, and documents evidencing your move to Spain. There is a transfer of residence route (ToR) intended for personal effects brought in when relocating, but conditions apply and the rules change. We'll guide you and connect you with a customs agent — please confirm your own position with them and with HMRC rather than relying on general advice.

How long does a removal from the UK to Spain take?

Door to door, most household moves take somewhere in the region of one to a few weeks, depending on whether you have a dedicated lorry or share a load, where in the UK you're collecting from, and how customs clearance goes. We'll give you a realistic window when we quote and keep you updated. What we won't do is promise a date that depends on a customs process nobody controls.

Can you store my furniture until my Spanish house is ready?

Yes — this is one of the main reasons people come to us. Your goods go into our own secure warehouse in Manilva when they arrive, and we deliver as soon as you have the keys. Short or long term, by the week or the month, all on the same inventory and the same contract.

Do you move cars, pets or plants?

No. We move household and personal effects — furniture, boxes, appliances, artwork — and we'd rather be straight with you than take on something outside our lane. Vehicles, animals and plants each have their own rules and specialist carriers, and we're happy to point you towards them.
